UK 1×04 – Back In 5 Mins

Due to a series of unfortunate events, I have delayed posting the final versions of the projects I’ve been troubled with over the past two months. I’ll start posting them gradually now that I’ve found some time.

This was made for the first project, concerning continuity. It was made with no sound. The rules also stated that the story should be comprised of 12 shots that conformed to conventions of shooting and editing for continuity. Although we broke some of the rules, it turned out just right. It also had to be shot on campus, onto miniDV tape and edited in Final Cut Pro.

As the breif reads, the exercise was assessed on our ‘ability to manipulate shots during shooting to create an illusion of continuous time and space, work collaboratively, show coherence and creativity in ideas and technical competence in the various skill areas’.

We’re certainly happy with the result. Hope you enjoy it!

If you think something dosen’t quite work, please do comment; WE‘re ALL really interested in what everyone thinks of it. Which is why you should write something, not just tell me.

wolfydolf & DOZ – Alta balada a lui Sir John

Just the other day, wolfydolf sent me a 36 second bass sample of what he made as a sequel to Balada lui Sir John, which is yet to be made public as it is too good and may blow your mind 😛 . After strumming along, I thought ‘why not have a jam session?’, and so we did the following day.

This is what came out, after another 2 different sketchy songs were ‘recorded’:

Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! If any Victor Socaciu fans felt offended, they should not, as we are fans ourselves 😀

Mono @ The One Minutes 08

A clip I made a month ago entered The One Minute Olympics and is to be premiered in Ghent and Amsterdam at the One Minutes Open this year and in Beijing the following year, at the main event.

It was made in just one day because of an exam I had that week and I had little time to edit or improve much, so this is what was shown at the Arts Faculty in Timişoara when the workshop I participated in was over.

The main music theme was made by wolfydolf, to whom I am thankful, and was mixed with an older ambiental piece that is to be posted later.

Four Tet – Twenty Three

This is a home made video – how obvious indeed – that was made with the permission of Four Tet. This clip was premiered at the ‘I Love U’ competition in March, this year, a competition I am most likely NEVER to enter again 😛

The quality is really bad partly because I used a photo camera to shoot it and because the original was lost due to computer failure. So this… is actually what I uploaded on YouTube. And since the site converts some videos for streaming, well, there you go.

Thank yous go to Kieran Hebden (aka Four Tet) for letting me use his music and everyone that supported me in making and showcasing this, especially my little brother who held the main role, and Sebi’s shadow 🙂

EDIT: This was featured on my portfolio for the Film & TV Course at the University of Westminster and was screened in the intro week at a film festival held in the main studio.
